Not sure where to begin?

If you’re confused about your dog’s behaviour, you don’t need more tools — you need understanding.

Most behaviour advice focuses on what to do next before you’ve ever been given a clear “why.” That leads to frustration, blaming yourself, and feeling stuck.

Here, we start with why it’s happening, so what comes next actually makes sense.

YOUR FIRST STEP

Understanding Your Dog

This is where most people begin.

It’s not a quick fix.

It’s the foundational viewpoint that makes insightful, lasting progress possible.

You’ll learn:

  • what behaviour actually means

  • how your dog’s nervous system plays a role

  • why lots of common advice gets it backwards

  • how to build realistic expectations

  • a grounded plan forward

Puppy Foundations

Build confidence, regulation, and a foundation that reduces overwhelm and prevents future reactivity.

Behaviour Consult

One-time session to:

  • see what’s happening

  • understand why

  • map realistic next steps

Perfect if you’re stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure what’s best next.

HOW I WORK

I support dog owners who want:

  • clarity instead of guesswork

  • peace of mind instead of pressure

  • real insight into behaviour, not quick tricks

This is suitable for:

  • Puppies and early development

  • Reactive, anxious, or unpredictable dogs

  • Everyday overwhelm at home or on walks

Behaviour is information — not disobedience.

When you learn how to read it, everything else gets simpler.

Jessica’s insight made behaviour make sense — for the first time.

I was so stressed. Jessica reassured me and we are exploring the world at Leo's pace.

Hi, I’m Jessica.

My first dog training course was in the early 1990s. By the mid-2000s, I deliberately set out to unlearn much of what I’d been taught. From the beginning, I knew there was more to being with an animal than obedience and control. That search led me into behaviour science and neuroscience, where behaviour is understood as communication, shaped by the nervous system, environment, and experience. As the science of behaviour continues to evolve, so do the ways we support dogs — with more clarity, compassion, and a whole lot more fun!
