This class is for people living with dogs who react — on walks, at home, or in everyday situations. We’ll look at reactivity through the lens of the nervous system: how threat and safety are shaped, how thresholds shift, and why context often matters more than any single trigger.

We’ll spend time on both sides of the leash. What’s happening in the dog, and what’s happening in you — before, during, and after a reactive moment.

Many people carry more tension, vigilance, grief, or isolation than they realize.

You’ll leave with:

  • A clearer way to read early signs of stress and escalation

  • A better sense of how thresholds actually work in real life

  • Language to describe what’s happening without moral judgement

  • Simple, realistic tools for supporting regulation — yours and your dog’s

  • A more grounded understanding of what helps, what doesn’t, and why

About Brandi Wyldewood

Many in the community first came to know Brandi through her earlier work running Dances With Dogs, a dog walking company working daily with reactive and high-stress canines. Her experience later extended into large-scale canine welfare work within one of Canada’s major humane societies, supporting thousands of dogs each year across behaviour, medical care, rehabilitation, and cruelty investigations. Today, Brandi supports canines through her 55,000 sq ft Wylderwoods Enrichment Park on Salt Spring Island, while also applying principles of regulation and environment in her interior design work for humans and their animal companions.

What Does Co-Regulate Mean?

I'm glad you asked because it's at the core of everything you do with your dog– and life.

Before we do anything with our dogs, we learn to regulate ourselves. That means feeling peaceful ourself. It's a lot to ask our dog to do something we cannot.

Then, we build a relationship of trust wth our dog through what's called "co-regulating", essentially being peaceful together. Why? Because this is where dog's can learn, listen, and focus.
